FARMERS' MARKET
“No farmers, no market;
no farmers, no food.”
FM
Food security and sustainability are two real issues Singapore faces - especially since our country “imports over 90%” of our food. It is thus important to understand more about our food sources, and where they come from!
This is why our curation of farmers’ markets features the most important people: the farmers themselves. We see this as a unique opportunity to showcase the farmers, their stories and their produce, bring them closer to the masses and encourage all to adopt supporting local as a way of life!
We also believe in the importance of creating different experiences at each market, so as to ensure that our visitors have a good time, and eventually play their part in developing the community.
CASE STUDY: KCFM
The Kranji Countryside Farmers’ Market (KCFM) – Singapore’s first authentic local farmers’ market – is organised quarterly by the Kranji Countryside Association.
As the venue sponsor and event organiser for KCFM, Gardenasia has developed the expertise and experience in organising similar farmers’ market events, so as to further encourage a natural, sustainable lifestyle.
